There does seem to be a glimmer of hope as far as the 'C' word as for the past couple fo days the number of deaths have reached levels not seem since March! People are gradually getting back to some form of normality and I have noticed a dramatic increase in how busy it is out there!
I think for the last few weeks we have bee spoilt by roads almost devoid of cars. This has definitely changed as on one stretch of road there seemed to be more cars than I remember pre-lockdown. I have also noticed a huge number of cyclists joining me on my commute.
The reason is quite simple. Lots of people would prefer to travel on anything rather than use the bus or tube. I don't blame them. If I had to use public transport I would be on my Brompton!!
The increase in cyclists has been a bit of a shock. I lost count of how many I saw this morning and gave up trying to count. This is a good thing but I hope that the proposed pop-up cycle lanes etc.., materialise as this would make things a greta deal better.
What has it been like on your commute and have you noticed a difference?
