The Lamy 2000 fountain pen. Timeless like a Brompton!?

You might be aware that I occasionally have a fountain pen mention here or there on my blog and on my Instagram page @orangebrompton. Over the years, I have used and owned many fountain pens that have cost a great deal. Many have been sold, and I am now down to a very select few. The one pen that I have never sold, although I have acquired more over the years, is the Lamy 2000.

Chaotic Cycling on a Brompton Through London Rush Hour

If you have read any of my ramblings, you will know that I live and cycle in London. Normally, my cycling adventures take place during quieter hours (assuming such a thing exists in London). Recently, I had to cycle during rush hour, and I thought I would share my experience - and what an experience it turned out to be!

My Orange Special Edition is gone!!

You may be aware that not long ago, I sold my Cloud Blue Brompton. I always liked the colour, and it served its purpose admirably as a commuting and foul-weather bike, but let’s face it...it just wasn’t orange enough. A few weeks ago, it was the turn of my Orange Special Edition; I suppose the universe thought it was the right time.

The Serpentine in Hyde Park on an Orange Brompton

I cycle through Hyde Park quite often and if I am early when meeting for one of the Sunday rides, I will often cycle around it at least once. I usually stop at the little bridge you can see below in the photo that affords a good view.

The Serpentine in Hyde Park - where the ducks are the true aristocrats and the swans are practically demanding bow ties - sits inside possibly my favourite London park. This body of water isn’t just a pretty face; it’s a historical gem that has been glittering away since the 18th century.
