It was 15 years ago to the very day where I posted my first blog post about placing an order for a Brompton bicycle. My Brompton journey actually started quite a few years earlier where I was gifted a Brompton that stayed with me all the way through my university studies. I have been on countless adventures and more nocturnal rides than I would have ever thought possible. Friendships have been made, many of which I hope will last a lifetime.
For those of you who have been part of this journey since the very beginning, your support means a great deal. It is nothing short of delightful to receive messages and comments on blog posts. I am often amazed by the fact that many of you hail from countries I am unlikely to ever visit, and yet, we have forged a connection through our shared passion. It has been great to hear about your adventures and to see your Brompton bicycles - many adorned in vibrant orange, which seems to add an extra splash of joy to our collective experience!
Though I have had no grand aspirations of becoming a cycling influencer - my focus has always been on the bicycle, the locations, and the adventures - this blog has served as a platform to capture and share these moments. Brompton HQ will not be hanging up bunting in celebration of this little milestone, and that’s perfectly alright. The essence of what I hope to convey through this blog is not about seeking recognition, but rather about sharing experiences that resonate with others.
As I reflect on these 15 years, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for every reader, each one of you who has taken the time to read my ramblings. It is astonishing that anyone would wish to delve into my thoughts, and I do not take that lightly. The beauty of community lies in the connections we create, transcending geographical boundaries and uniting us in our love for cycling and exploration on a little bicycle.
In the spirit of looking forward, I am excited to share that you won’t have to wait too long for the next blog post, which will be live this coming Sunday. There are plenty more adventures ahead, stories yet to be told, and perhaps even some lessons learned along the way. So, keep reading, and let’s continue this journey together.
Here’s to many more years of exploration, friendship, and of course, Brompton adventures! Thank you once again for your support and companionship over the years. Your support inspires me, and I am eager to discover what the future folds holds!
