I was on a 6 speed and Mark was as well but with a 54T chainring! I would say go for it. I suspect that if you're doing the charity ride (night or day) you'll a;most certainly be walking up the bigger hills due to the numbers of people taking My Orange Bromptonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11527237035726801401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-386936010311519.post-71377350808323912832013-06-28T12:47:19.607+01:002013-06-28T12:47:19.607+01:00Hi All. inspiring indeed. I have an old steel 3 speed Brompton and am toying with the idea of riding this. I say this because I know I can complete on my secondary carbon road bike and as I am riding it mainly for fun with my brother who doesn't do much riding and will be riding on a hybrid I GCGizbournhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10842966500048955107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-386936010311519.post-38247881576954209052013-04-29T11:55:13.443+01:002013-04-29T11:55:13.443+01:00Sounds like a fabulous ride, with great friendship...Sounds like a fabulous ride, with great friendship along the way. In Brisbane Australia I have cycled to the start line, cycled to the gold coast, then cycled to a train station for a trip back to Brisbane then cycled home for a total of 130 km on a M6 steel brompton. I love them! They just make cycling so enjoyable (and so easy to get on the train) David Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02871969543422454992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-386936010311519.post-41877148224149194002013-04-28T20:21:52.741+01:002013-04-28T20:21:52.741+01:00Well done Messrs O., B. & W. for showing what ...Well done Messrs O., B. & W. for showing what a Brompton can do. Interesting that you are viewed as the 'crazy people'. If you had done this ride on a heavy £49.99 supermarket bike on fat slow tyres, nobody would bat an eyelid. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
