End of the all night rides for 2022

Well the last of the group night rides to the coast has come to an end for 2022. Due to rail strikes the last of the rides to Shoreham (near Brighton) had to be cancelled and a possible reschedule also closed.

Night rides are highly addictive. I don't know how many I have been on now but they are quite a thing.  Cycling through the night, never really knowing what the weather might bring (this is the UK after all) is rather exciting. Cycling in that special block of time before sunrise can be magical. The colour of the sky, seeing the sun rising, hearing the dawn chorus all create moments you want to experience again. Added to this the company, banter and then moments of near silence when you are on your own and in your own thoughts.

It will be mid to late March 2023 before they all start up again. Definitely something to look forward to. There might be one more night ride - assuming I can convince a few brave souls to join me - which is the London Christmas lights ride. London in the build up to Christmas is lovely and for us Brompton types who like to take photographs, the possibilities are endless. I will need to start working on drumming up some interest.

Until next time, stay safe out there people!!
